Supported Living and Foster Homes We provide safe, supervised community-based homes and nurturing foster family placements for children with developmental delays or mild to moderate behavioral challenges, in partnership with the Tennessee Department of Children's Services. Our programs bridge the gap between institutional care and independent living, ensuring every child experiences stability, dignity, and individualized support in a family-like environment. Foster Home (Family-Based Setting) A Foster Home is a licensed, family-based placement where a child lives with trained and compassionate foster parents in a private residence. This setting emphasizes emotional attachment, routine family life, and one-on-one mentoring. Foster parents receive ongoing clinical support, respite care, and specialized training in trauma-informed care and behavior management. This option is ideal for children who benefit from consistent family relationships and can thrive in a less structured, home-like environment with close adult supervision. Group Living (Community-Based Supervised Home) Group Living refers to a staff-secure, community-based home where 4–6 children live together with 24/7 professional supervision from rotating trained caregivers. These homes offer structured daily routines, on-site behavioral coaching, life skills training (e.g., cooking, hygiene, budgeting), and access to therapeutic services. Group living is suitable for children who require higher levels of supervision, peer interaction, and predictable environments to manage mild to moderate behavioral challenges while still experiencing a home-like, non-institutional setting. Eligibility To be eligible for Supported Living and Foster Home services through our partnership with the Tennessee Department of Children's Services, a child must be under the legal custody or supervision of the Tennessee Department of Children's Services (DCS).

Respite Care or Relief for Family Respite care is planned or emergency temporary care provided to caregivers of an adult. Respite programs provide planned, short-term, and time-limited to run errands, and breaks for families. Caregivers can be rewarding and often strengthens bonds within a family. At the same time, caregiving can be demanding amidst life's other responsibilities. Family caregivers and those in their care can benefit from a little time off now and then. That is why Caring Steps Solution offers respite care. Respite can be scheduled as needed to provide family caregivers time to run errands, go shopping, get groceries, or get some much-needed rest. ​ Short-Term Care Services Short Term Care Services is a specialized type of medical care that focuses on providing comfort and support to people with terminal illnesses and their families. Here's a breakdown: Focus on Comfort: Short-Term Care Services prioritizes pain and symptom management to ensure the patient is as comfortable as possible in their final stages of life. This includes managing pain, nausea, shortness of breath, and other distressing symptoms. Holistic Approach: It goes beyond just physical care. Short Term Care Services also address the emotional, social, and spiritual needs of the patient and their family. This may include counseling, spiritual support, and assistance with daily living tasks. Team-Based Care: A team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers, work together to provide comprehensive care. Where it is Provided: Short Term Care Services can be provided in various settings, including the patient's home, a Short-Term Care Services center, a hospital, or a nursing home. Eligibility: To be eligible for Short Term Care Services, a patient must have a terminal illness with a life expectancy of six months or less. Key Goals: The primary goal of Short-Term Care Services is to improve the quality of life for the patient and their family during the final stages of life. This includes providing comfort, dignity, and support. In essence, Short Term Care Services help people live as fully and comfortably as possible during their final journey. ECF Choices ECF CHOICES stands for Employment and Community First CHOICE It is a TennCare program that aims to help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities gain employment and live independently in the community. The program focuses on: Employment support: Helping individuals find and maintain jobs that suit their skills and interests. Community living: Providing support services that enable people to live independently in their homes or in community-based settings. Key aspects of ECF CHOICES: Person-centered: The program is designed to meet the unique needs and goals of the individual. Community-based: Services are typically provided in the community, rather than in institutions. Focus on employment: The program emphasizes employment as a pathway to independence and community integration. CHOICES The CHOICES program in Tennessee is a TennCare program that provides long-term care services and support for seniors and adults with physical disabilities. It helps individuals live independently in their homes or communities rather than in nursing facilities. Here are some key points about the CHOICES program: Eligibility: To be eligible, individuals must be 65 years or older or have a physical disability and meet certain income and asset requirements. Services: CHOICES offers a range of services, including home health care, personal care, adult day care, home-delivered meals, and assistive technology. Focus on independence: The program emphasizes helping individuals maintain their independence and quality of life in their homes and communities. 1915 C 1915(c) refers to a set of Medicaid waiver programs that provide Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) for people with disabilities. These waivers allow states to use federal Medicaid funds to support individuals in their homes and communities rather than requiring them to live in institutions.
